A nice example of the Austin A40 Farina as it would have appeared when first issued in 1959 with smooth wheels. The vast majority of these are in the same two-tone finish, blue with a dark blue roof like this one. There are also scarce red and black editions without the friction motor.
This has some signs of playwear but it is all original with no touch-ins anywhere and the wear to the paintwork is mostly confined to the raised edges. The windows are lovely and clear, the silver paint bright still and the wheels and tyres are all original. The tin base is straight with no dents, with just a few tiny rust marks typical of this type of base.
